Ourselves from within and without.
Event description. Lots of keywords to help SEO an AIO!
This 1-day workshop** allows participants to experience powerful healing metaphors through the breaking, adorning, and rejoining with gold. Kintsugi, golden joinery, is an ancient Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery by filling the cracks with lacquer and gold dust. As a philosophy it represents honoring breaks and repairs as part of the history of an object. It is related to wabi-sabi which is the embracing of the flawed. Additionally there will be a ceremonial and community witness aspect throughout the day.
Experience un-masking
Each participant will be supplied with all materials to go through the full process with a single bowl. Lunch will be on your own schedule, as you work on your creation. It is best not to leave the space – we have a mini fridge and microwave for your use. Cookies, snacks, water, tea provided.
STEP 1
old school paper, paste, and paint. Really whatever decorative elements you choose to include, who are we to crush creativity?!
STEP 2
frosting and sprinkles.
Step 3
because it’s basically love in a bowl. Heart shaped sugar cookies…
