Description
This 3 hour workshop provides supervisors with an opportunity to explore relational and developmental variations in clinical supervision, as well as clarifying roles and responsibilities within the relationship. Time will be given to addressing participants personal experiences in supervision & consultation. We will use didactic and experiential processes, reflection, and discussion to meet learning objectives.
Depending on the number of attendees, Zoom break out rooms will be utilized to ensure amble room for discussion among participants. Isolation and a lack of opportunity for mutuality of exchange among peers is a risk for supervisors. As this is a mutually created workshop, the learning objectives will include the following objectives while also organically addressing the specific areas of interest from the participants.
Objectives
- Explore interpersonal dynamics in clinical supervision & consultation;
- Describe the difference between supervision and consultation;
- Identify the chain of liability in clinical supervision;
- Identify development of the supervisee as a variable to be tended in the clinical relationship as it relates to countertransference;
- Discuss interpersonal challenges in the clinical relationship;
- Explain the importance of recognizing power differences in the clinical relationship;
- Use peer support to gain clarity with regards to the provision of clinical supervision & consultation;
