Description
Building on Foundations, part 1, participants in this 3-day workshop continue to develop their understanding and use of sandtray therapy in clinical practice.
The training prioritizes clinician presence and the unique therapist-client relationship as foundational for facilitating sandtray. There are numerous ways of understanding and multiple theories or applications for sandtray. We explore principles that assist clinician decision making. This course includes discussion of professional and ethical issues related to all aspects of treatment, including documentation and clinical conceptualization.
Specific techniques will be explored that can enhance exploration of client concerns. We will addresshame, grief, trauma, and other attachment based issues. Particular focus will be given to the clinical relationship as it relates to transference, countertransference, and co-transference. Participants will have opportunities to refine and integrate therapeutic skills and understanding through hands-on practice.
Each participant will create multiple individual sandtray worlds.
