Retreat Schedule & Details

This schedule identifies the general flow for our time. Be assured there will be adjustments as we refine the details of activities, group size, weather, and the organic nature of expressive experiences. Having facilitated numerous retreats, I find that responsiveness to what is serves better than rigid adherence to a plan. That said, I am organized and intentional in crafting the format. You won’t be arriving into some groovy notion of ‘go with the flow’ that is chaos.

The schedule is a blend of facilitated activity and self-guided restorations of your choosing.
Information below provides the scaffold upon which to prepare your expectations:

DETAILS TO NOTE:

We ask you to consider limited connection to your “devices” during our time together. Technology has a way of inviting unbidden distress – messages and alerts that disrupt equilibrium, or simply provide for numbness and escape that is not the generative, restful experience we intend.

Everything you need will be provided – linens, art supplies, journals, pens, yoga mats, meals & snacks. If you have preferred items, by all means bring them.

Optional things to consider packing: A camp style chair for outdoor seating, a beanbag or easy to load comfy chair for reading – oddly with room for over 20 people to sleep, there are only 2 couches for cozy sitting in the main room?!?!
Bug spray.
Games.

Be prepared that we will enter into silence on Saturday evening after dinner and not re-emerge until Sunday morning. This silence will be bookended by 2 types of meditation walks, and an orientation to what silence is and isn’t. Many people find silence, especially in a group setting to be intimidating. I will try to make this as easeful as possible.

I am NOT a meditation, yoga, or fitness teacher. There is no inclination on my part to deceive or act as if I have qualifications. No disrespect is intended to those who truly have invested in leadership of these arts. What I have to offer is the sharing of my personal practices. You are invited to join, if you desire. However you choose, the day ideally begins in awareness.
